Scientific Name: Arion intermedius
Size: 1.5-2.5cm when mature
Appearance: Body colour is creamy yellow to bluish-grey. Dark high lateral bands are very occasionally present. Head and tentacles dark grey. Sole and sole mucus is pale yellow to orange. This species has course tubercles that can appear prickly or jagged (especially when the slug is contracted). Juveniles resemble adults.
Habitat: This species lives in a wide range of habitats from wetlands to forests, and has a high tolerance for acidic soils. Often absent from gardens.
Pest Status: Not considered a serious pest as diet mostly consists of dead leaves and fungi.
